Trista Borra, Esq, M.S.W., is a solo practitioner dedicated to serving children and families in family court and helping families create thoughtful estate plans. She combines legal expertise with social work training to provide compassionate, practical advocacy focused on long-term stability and healing.

Before starting her practice, Trista served as the Director of the Child Welfare and Family Justice Division in the New York Unified Court System’s Office for Justice Initiatives. Trista oversaw projects including Child Permanency Mediation, Trauma-Informed Court Practices, and the Better for Families (BFF) Approach. She also co-led the development of a Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) to ensure policies and practices reflect the perspectives of those impacted by the child welfare system.
